If that is the case, I need to convert to Islam just to practise Polygyny!! >:O) Yep its a sad tradition!

Rahul,

Thanks da. Then, why shud we bother abt Sikhs as long as they don't disturb women? >:O) Yep! I wish the customs & traditions do good to the mankind & never be forced upon.

Burkhas are in different colors - I have seen in Brown, White, Bluish-white (may be because of the blue they use while washing), Sandal, Grey & even LightPink!!

I thought it to be sunscreen because, mostly all Arab/Muslim countries are deserts & desert likes. They are all very sunny, you know!

Re: Burkha Girls

Wow, nice account of the incident. The dramatic touch with an element of suspense was really nice.

Why do Muslim women have to wear the burkha? Why do the sikhs have to wear the turban? Does it make any sense in the modern civilized world apart from the religious compliance. Isn't it time we looked seriously into our ancient pratices and customs and got rid of the obsolete ones whose very purpose has lost relevance today?

On a lighter vein, why are burkhas always the same sober black? Not a good colour for a sunscreen, you see. The burkhas could be more fashionable and yet serve the "purpose". : )

Re: Burkha Girls

wow...romance-on-first-sight story! :)
Ya, burkhas are sign of yester year's male chauvinism. its like that chastity belt for women. Sad and sick practise! :(
